JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting to take stock of the security scenario, progress on Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan and district-wise preparations for the forthcoming pilgrimages.
The meeting was attended by Atal Dullo, Chief Secretary, Nalin Prabhat, DGP, Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary Home Department, S.J.M.Gillani, Spl DG Coordination PHQ, Nitish Kumar, ADGP, CID, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor, M Raju, Commissioner/Secretary, Health & Medical Education Department, Sarmad Hafeez Commissioner/Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Ram Niwas Sharma, Commissioner/Secretary School Education Department, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, IGP Jammu, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs from Jammu Division.
In course of the meeting, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs gave an account of the Lieutenant Governor of the law and order and security scenario in their respective districts. They apprised about the progress of 100-day campaign of the ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’ and preparations regarding the pilgrimages in their respective districts including Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Kausar Nag Yatra and Shri Budha Amarnathji Yatra.
LG Sinha directed the DCs and SSPs to maintain synergy with Police, Civil administration and the security forces.
With regard to Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, LG Manoj Sinha directed for outcome-based efforts for combating the drug menace. He made a strong pitch for stringent action against the drug smugglers and peddlers in coordination with all the stakeholders.
LG Manoj Sinha laid emphasis on identifying narco-corridors in Jammu Division to dismantle hotspots and networks.
With respect to the arrangements of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026 and other upcoming pilgrimages in Jammu Division, the Lieutenant Governor directed the DCs and SSPs to conduct a comprehensive review in their respective districts.
LG Manoj Sinha issued a firm directive to fortify the security grid through coordination among all security forces.
LG directed for the stringent possible action against individuals and OGWs harboring terrorists, vowing zero tolerance for those who shelter threats to national security.
