‘Chalo Secretariat is just a trailor’, CM Omar Abdullah must be prepared for a Mass Youth Agitation Across Jammu Region if aspirations of Youth remained unfulfilled: Arun Prabhat
JAMMU: J&K BJP strongly protested the failure of NC government organizing a “Chalo Secretariat” protest marching from JDA Parking, Indira Chowk to the Civil Secretariat (Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly).
BJP leaders targeted the Omar Abdullah-led NC government over the sale of 24,000 government jobs, while also raising the issues of denial of a National Law University (NLU) to Jammu and the irrational hike in fuel prices.
The protest witnessed participation from thousands of youth, senior BJP leaders, and citizens from across Jammu province. The march was spearheaded by J&K BJYM President Arun Prabhat, with active participation from BJP Morchas and Cells including OBC Morcha led by Brahmjyot Satti, Minority Morcha led by Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, Mahila Morcha led by Neha Mahajan, and BJP All Cells including the Transport Cell.
Prominent BJP leaders and MLAs including Yudhvir Sethi, Vikram Randhawa, Arvind Gupta, Surinder Kumar, Dr. Sunil Bhardwaj, Shagun Parihar, and Devyani Rana joined the protest, expressing strong resentment against the policies of the NC government.
Addressing on the occasion, Arun Prabhat questioned the eerily silence of Omar government on the grant of NLU in Jammu region too. He added that the backdoor sale of 24,000 government jobs by the NC government is also the biggest betrayal with the youth.
He asserted that this massive recruitment scam has shattered the dreams of deserving and meritorious youth, exposing the hollow promises made in the NC’s 2024 Assembly Election manifesto. He questioned the government on the recruitment process, asking whether any transparent mechanism such as advertisement, written examination, or interviews was followed. He demanded that the government immediately disclose the details of the agencies or companies involved in these recruitments.
Yudhvir Sethi stated that while deserving candidates are struggling for opportunities, the government has allegedly resorted to backdoor entries, which is completely unacceptable. He also demanded immediate establishment of a National Law University in Jammu, stating that denying it to the region reflects step-motherly treatment.
Vikram Randhawa strongly criticized the government over the rising fuel prices, calling them irrational and unjustified. He said that the burden of these hikes will directly impact the common public, adding that the government must roll back the policy to increase and provide relief to the people.
Arvind Gupta said that the combined issues of job irregularities, denial of NLU, and fuel price hike clearly show the government’s failure on governance and accountability. He emphasized that BJP will continue to expose these failures and stand with the public in their fight for justice.
Brahmjyot Satti stated that OBC youth have been the worst sufferers of the alleged job scam and demanded a fair and transparent recruitment process.
Ranjodh Singh Nalwa said that minority communities also deserve equal opportunities and transparency in employment, which the current government has failed to ensure.
Neha Mahajan asserted that women candidates have been equally affected by the alleged irregularities in jobs and demanded accountability from the government.
