MS Dhoni set to miss IPL start due to calf injury

NEW DELHI: Letting the fans disheartened, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni will miss the first two weeks of the IPL owing to a calf injury.

A statement by CSK said, “MS Dhoni is undergoing rehabilitation for a calf strain due to which he is likely to miss the first two weeks of TATA IPL 2026.”

MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL has been an important discussion following CSK’s campaign every season.

Contemplating the fact that MS Dhoni only plays the IPL it becomes hard to maintain the match fitness.

It is learnt that Dhoni has played 14 games in the previous IPL and batted lower down the order to provide the final touch to the innings.

Notably, CSK will open their IPL 2026 campaign against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on March 30.
