KOLKATA: Launching a scathing attack on the West Bengal Government, BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Wednesday said that Namaz can be offered freely in the state while Court approval is required to organise pujas and other Hindu rituals — is quite unfortunate.
Asserting that the double standards exist in West Bengal over permission for religious activities, Nitin Nabin came down heavily on the West Bengal Government and reiterated that the Hindus are marginalized in the state.
Nabin spoke to media after offering prayers at the Dakshineswar Temple on the outskirts of Kolkata.
Nabin termed it ‘disappointment’, said, “Here, there is no permission to offer namaz, but to perform puja and erect pandals, one has to seek approval from the High Court.”
He further said he prayed to Goddess Kali for the peace and prosperity of people of the state.
