Properties amounting to Rs 3.5 Cr of drug peddlers attached in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Tightening the noose against drug peddlers, the Police on Saturday seized properties worth approximately Rs 3.5 crore belonging to two alleged peddlers in Srinagar.

It is learnt that the action is part of the Police’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and efforts to target the assets acquired through drug trade under the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan’.

Firstly, the Police attached a double-storey residence and land worth Rs 1.30 crore belonging Rahil Manzoor Malla in Hazratbal under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act.

In the other case, the Police confiscated a house worth approximately Rs 2.20 crore under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act belonging to Adil Rashid Gudoo, a resident of Upper Soura.

In the course of investigation, both properties were identified as assets acquired from the drug trade.

Notably, the commitment and efforts of Srinagar Police to eradicate drug menace from society adds feather to their cap.
