Dubbing Parliament as an ‘open university’, even as, asking outgoing Members of Parliament (MPs) to remain active in public life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid warm tributes to 59 members retiring from Rajya Sabha from April to July.
While addressing during the farewell in the Upper House, PM Modi said such occasions generally rise above party lines, encouraging sense of admiration.
In the course of this, PM Modi lauded the contributions of retiring MPs stating manifold opportunities come by in political life.
PM Modi gave special acknowledgement to senior leaders, including former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, and NCP chief Sharad Pawar, hailing their decades-long dedication to parliamentary work.
